A Hidden Gem in the Woods
The story of this home began with its exceptional setting. A house nestles among the trees, combining the serenity of nature with the convenience of nearby city life.
The clients dreamed of creating a warm and deeply personal home where natural materials, sustainability, and thoughtful craftsmanship would come together seamlessly. A place that not only supports everyday living but also reflects who they are.
Drawing inspiration from the surrounding landscape, a soft and nuanced colour palette was developed, featuring shades of green, muted blues, powder pinks, and warm apricot tones. Reminiscent of a garden in bloom, these colours create a strong connection between the interior and the natural world beyond.
A cherished antique farmhouse cabinet, gifted by his family, holds a special place in the home. Painted in green and adorned with delicate pink flowers, it carries both personal history and emotional value, while its colours subtly echo the palette woven throughout the interior.
It was an ambitious decision to envelop the entire home in shades of green and blue. Flowing across all levels, these colours unfold differently from space to space, creating a dreamlike yet tranquil atmosphere that brings a sense of calm and harmony throughout the house.
Natural linens and textiles in soft, nature-inspired tones bring warmth, texture, and softness to the interior.
Oak serves as the unifying element throughout the home, flowing through the floors, staircases, and bespoke cabinetry. In the kitchens and bathrooms, light surfaces with the elegant appearance of natural stone complement the warmth of the wood. Together with floor-to-ceiling invisible doors these elements create a refined architectural language defined by clarity and precision.
Creating a home is always a journey filled with excitement, anticipation, and countless decisions. As the heart of family life, it deserves to be both beautiful and deeply personal.
